For this milestone birthday celebration for a private client, we created a three-day getaway in Tuscany that transported 170 guests to the glamorous world of mid-20thcentury Hollywood.
Inspired by the client’s love of cinema and 1950’s high fashion, each day took an iconic film as inspiration. The first day drew on the theme of Mambo Italiano (sung by Sofia Loren in ‘Pane, Amore e...’) which remains famed for its energetic portrayal of Italian-American culture and celebratory vibe. We set the festive atmosphere of an Italian street party with an avenue of geranium-filled terracotta pots, festoon lights, and cascades of ribbons while market stall food stations, costume flower stalls and a choreographed flash mob invited guests to join in the fun.
The second day led guests into the world of High Society, with a dreamy vineyard lunch followed by a lavish 1950s gala dinner, replete with a dramatic champagne coupe tower and choreography on the grand staircase.
The last day took everyone to a pool party, which drew visual cues from Anchors Away, with stripes, scalloped edges, parasols, and palm trees, culminating in wrap party complete with neon light and a grand firework display.
In addition to the scrupulous set design for each day, every moment of the long weekend, from personalised welcome gifts to menus to interactive stalls, was planned in incredible detail to create a world that guests could not only step into but intimately become a part of.
