CARTIER CLASH
A play with 'the conventional architecture of shapes, tradition and liberty'.
To celebrate the avant-garde Clash de Cartier creations, Sculptivate was approached to realise a 6month long pop-up in Harrods. The vision was to embrace a ‘clash of attitudes’ through a showcase of their signature line.
With the concept being subversive and playful we were technically challenged to find ways to tamper with the existing architecture. Making it seem as if the period features of the building had been pushed and pulled in various directions, warped by the disruptive energy of the collection.
Reflecting the collection’s youthful spirit this project pushed us to think creatively about how to create these spatial illusions, and explore the materiality and engineering around how to make them take form.
Working with overlays, broken shard-like forms, graphic contrasts of gold and white and playful spheres inserting themselves into the architecture, we created an environment which was bold & brave whilst being minimal and elegant – embodying Cartier’s tone for the collection.
